- Who is eligible to apply?伟德在线登录 is an international school for foreign passport holders. In addition to different nationalities, students holding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan passports are eligible. Students holding People's Republic of China passports are not eligible, per Chinese law.
- Can 伟德在线登录 help families obtain a student visa?Unfortunately, 伟德在线登录 is unable to assist in the visa application process. 伟德在线登录 is not authorized to issue student visas for its students. We assume students are living in Guangzhou with at least one of their working parents. It is the family or sponsoring company's responsibility to make sure the student has and maintains the appropriate and valid visa/permit.
- Does 伟德在线登录 have boarding facilities?伟德在线登录 does not have boarding facilities or dormitories. We require that students reside with at least one parent who is living full-time in the Guangzhou area. We will not accept families who rent/buy residences for their child(ren) and do not reside with them.
- We are moving from overseas or from outside Guangdong. When should we submit our applications?For applicants for the immediate upcoming full school year - which represents the majority of applicants - the school conducts an Open House during the month of December preceding the upcoming school year, with the application window opening in January preceding the upcoming school year.
- Does my child need to take an admissions test or undergo an evaluation?
Students applying from Guangzhou area are required to take an English admissions test and participate in an oral interview as part of the qualification process. Group assessments are scheduled from mid-March to early April. There is no advanced studying for a test and the school wants to evaluate the student applicant's natural progress. The Admissions Office will refuse all requests for studying for a test on the part of the applicant's parents.
Students applying from overseas or other provinces in China are not required to travel to Guangzhou for an assessment. If you do not plan to visit Guangzhou prior to your relocation, and if 伟德在线登录 feels that an assessment is necessary, we may consider assessing your child(ren) upon your arrival to Guangzhou.
- We currently live in the Guangzhou area. When should we submit our applications?
If you are currently living in and attending school in Guangzhou, 伟德在线登录 prefers that you apply for the start of the upcoming school year (August begin date). New application windows begin in January preceding the next school year.
伟德在线登录 encourages you to complete the application process no later than early March, as student/grade assessments will be scheduled in March.
Once 伟德在线登录 begins offering seats in early April, grades may fill up quickly.
Applications received after the first round of seat assignments may be subject to limited seat availability.
Though rare, 伟德在线登录 may consider Semester 2 applications from local applicants if seats become available.
- Can I reserve a seat for my child? Can I register early?
伟德在线登录 does not reserve, prioritize, or guarantee seats at any stage of the admissions process.
伟德在线登录 begins accepting applications in January for the next school year, and early applications are encouraged to ensure that your child is considered when seat assignments begin in early April.
伟德在线登录 will not consider any applications for future years past the next school year, and asks families to follow this instruction, as any applications past the upcoming school year will be immediately denied, with a non-refundable application fee not being returned.
- Can I pay the application processing fee after you confirm my child's admissions?Per school policy, applications will not be considered or reviewed until the non-refundable application fee has been paid in full.
- Why do I need to request reference forms from our current school?
The confidential reference forms are an important part of 伟德在线登录's admissions decision making process.
We understand you may not want to let your current school know you are applying to 伟德在线登录, but we are unable to formally review applications until reference forms are received.
Fortunately, 伟德在线登录 finds that most schools anticipate student movement and teachers are very professional and will complete the forms as requested.

As part of the school's standard practice, most families applying for the new school year will receive an email regarding their child's admissions status by the end of April.

- What age does my child need to be to apply for Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten?Students enrolling in our Pre-Kindergarten must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st of that school year. Students enrolling in our Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st of that school year. We are very strict in applying this policy.
- Does 伟德在线登录 have an EAL program?伟德在线登录 has an English as an Additional Language (EAL) program for qualified students in Grades 1 to 10 who need additional support in developing proficiency in English. Space in the program is limited and students must qualify for admission before being considered for enrollment in the EAL program. Placement in this program is determined by principals and counselors.
- Does 伟德在线登录 have a Learning Support program?
伟德在线登录 also has a limited Learning Support program for students with mild learning differences. If your child has received or is currently receiving learning services of any kind (i.e. learning or behavior support, speech or occupational therapy, etc.), you must submit all support plans, IEPs, speech/language or occupational therapy reports, medical or special needs evaluations, or psych-educational reports.

The overall goal of 伟德在线登录's Learning Support program, which is offered across all three divisions of Elementary, Lower and Upper Secondary, is that with accommodations and available support services, students meet grade level standards. A 'least restrictive environment' is preferred, with Learning Support ideally being offered in the general education classroom. If necessary, students will receive specific skill instruction in the Learning Support classroom individually or in small groups; the latter being preferred and particularly effective for our Lower and Upper Secondary students. Each student in the learning support program has a Student Learning Plan that includes goals, services, and helpful accommodations.
